We need Smiting Focus!!!
This is the only smiting focus you can get in game.
But there are smiting rods. What is the point of using rods when you cant use focus?
I'm talking about pure Smiter.
And I'd like a smiting focus on my warrior/mo who's using smiting skills to deal damage. With SoH you get one less energy pip and Judge's Insight costs 10 energy.

Umm, welcome to the game.
There is no Inspiration staff, there is no Inspiration wand. There are no healing wands, but there are healing foci. It's trying to tell you something. Heck, there's no beastmaster anything, nor expertise anything, nor wilderness survival anything - yet beast masters and trappers abound.
Life's not fair. Maybe it'll be added, but I hardly see it as a rush job - many classes are lacking items. It's to suit the nature of the attribute - protection and healing are defensive, thus no weapon associated with them. Smiting is offensive, thus no focus. Divine favor gets bonuses to any of them. Try being a beastmaster/trapper, then figure out what weapon to bring. Or an N/Mo using soul reaping and healing/protection - oops, Divine Favor gets weapons, but not Soul Reaping :P

It forces you to spread the attribute points out more then you would like in so many profs. Wish they would fix that.

Well monk healers are not really offensive characters so no need for healing wand. However my W/Mo is no paladin and I'd like a focus that could give me +12 energy not +6.

Staff>Rods
Get an inisghtful mod on a 20/20 smiting staff and you'll know what i mean.
But, with your W/Mo...well, you can still use a focus and gain full energy bonus from it i think...

I've made a thread of this before but it died, so no prob bumping yours.
Some of you don't seem to get it, I want 12 energy without penalty while I have 9 levels invested in Smiting on my warrior. There is no alternate to that without severe penalties (-1 En Regen, Halved Energy (from less than req), etc.). My warrior build seems a lot like Anarki's with the SoH+JI Combo. Why did the Gale warriors get to support their playstyle with the similar focii (thank God Gale was nerfed)? As for the Staff/Rod arguement, it's not valid in anyway. What if I was a monk who needed a melee weapon to get within some of the smiting skill ranges and wanted the focus. What if I thought Rod + Focus (Reduce Deep Wound) was more helpful to me, or even the focus that gives 15, -1 or +5 Armor (enchanted) +45 Health (enchanted).
All this being said, I'm not saying Anet should only work the smiting lines...I'm all for BM/Expertise/WS weapons as well as the others that some have pointed out. I just used Smiting as an example because it dealt with the topic at hand.

Wait for Factions; doubtless we'll see new SF style greens to go with all the new skills.
